    About Washington Square

Washington Square, a designated National Register of Historic Places located on historic Second Avenue at Union Street in downtown Nashville, is a multi-structure office building featuring scenic views of the Cumberland River and the Nissan Stadium.

Second Avenue is one of Nashville’s oldest streets and features renovated historic structures containing many professional and business services, as well as restaurants and entertainment venues. The Metropolitan and Davidson County Courthouse, located one block away, is currently undergoing a $10 million renovation and construction of a $25 million park/plaza atop a 1,500 space underground parking garage.

Washington Square is actually a grouping of a block of buildings that have been renovated into one office building designed around two atriums. The building was renovated in phases and is divided into two sections, 214 2nd Avenue and 222 Second Avenue. The building features brick facades and large double hung windows.

The layout of the office floors has been designed to achieve both space efficiency and flexible layouts. Floor plates range from 12,300 to 27,400 rentable square feet. The top floor of 222 is a new structure with large windows and excellent views of the river.

Downtown access and traffic flow is simple and convenient. Commuter traffic is directed into the city by 3 interstates and numerous secondary roads that emanate from the city’s core. Vehicular ingress and egress to and from the building is from 2nd Avenue, a 2 lane, one-way street that intersects three major east-west arteries (Union Street, Broadway and Commerce Street).

Security of Washington Square features around the clock personnel, a card access system, cameras and other security equipment. Access to the loading dock is controlled by security personnel.

Washington Square is staffed with on-site management and maintenance personnel.

Parking for Washington Square employees is provided in a small garage under the building and a 70 space garage across 2nd Avenue. Additional employee parking is accommodated by neighboring garages and lots. Free parking is available by the city at the Titans Coliseum.
